1. Firstly, let's talk about your business and how it was started, shall we?

In 1995, my father commenced a vehicle service station in the name of “New City” in Anuradhapura town and I have gathered bulk of experience from my father with regard to vehicle maintenances and repairing. Accordingly, with the exposure gained over the years, I have formed my own business under name of “Wheel Masters” in 2008. “Wheel Masters” was started as a repair center with modern tools and technology. Further, presently we are the authorized service dealer for Suzuki, Honda, Micro, Ford, Hyundai & Sang Yong vehicle services and repair.

2. How does your business differ from other competing businesses?

Myself and all my staff strongly believe that the success of the business largely depends on timely and quality services provided to the customers by continuous changing policy. And in order to provide high quality service to your customers, you must have a group of employees who are eager, specially the management of female cadre. So, I specially prioritize in treating them well at first and for the smooth and continuous operation of the business, the payments of the suppliers are cleared as soon as possible. So, I see these things as our uniqueness.

3. What challenges have you faced in this journey and are you facing any recently?

At first, I found it difficult to get rid of superstitions about business developments. Also, starting three diversified businesses on the same day was a big challenge. Another challenge I faced was uncertain political decisions took place.

4. Let's talk about your future business dream, shall we?

Our future dream is to diversify the business in to component manufacturing and leisure sector while expanding the existing vehicle repairing business. In addition to the business growth, as a social worker, I am more preferred to engage as a mentor the young generation to groom them as entrepreneurs.

5. How was the support received from Commercial Bank during your journey?

I have many experience since inception of the Commercial bank Anuradhapura Branch and all Managers being assisted me to bring “Wheel Masters” to a greater highest level in vehicle servicing and repair market.

6. What advice do you have for aspiring entrepreneurs?

Get rid of myths. Maintain regular permanent financial accounts/bank accounts. Especially practice punctuality and be a pay master.
