The global e-commerce industry is growing by an average of 23% year over year, but India is seeing a growth of 51% as per a study. India's e-commerce revenue is expected to grow substantially from $16 billion in 2016 to $103 billion in 2020. 

E-commerce is the process of acquiring or obtaining, transferring and trading of products and services electronically by businesses and consumers without the use of paper documents. E-commerce can be categorised as – business to business (B2B), business to consumer (B2C) and consumer to consumer (C2C). C2C is also termed as electronic commerce. Social media has become an important driver of e-commerce.
