Surangi Priyanka started her batik business over 10 years ago. Her first batik design was done on a saree for Rs 600. Soon there was good demand for her sarees. As orders increased, Surangi needed funding for the business. Commercial Bank helped fund her business and offered her a loan to expand. Today, the business has grown and reached Sri Lanka’s leading retailers and they also export to countries such as Italy.
